Amanda, Veterinary Assistant
Amanda has been with MAH for over 8 years (since 2008). She has always loved working with animals. Amanda is always trying to keep up with her own squad of three dogs, three cats, and three hermit crabs!
Barbara, Office Manager
Barbara has worked at MAH since she married into the practice in July 1979. Since her daughters left for college, she has filled her “nest” with dogs, cats, birds, and turtles! She also enjoys spending time in Mobile, Alabama with her new granddaughter, Savannah.
Paul Ann, Receptionist
Paul Ann joined MAH in January 1987 and still continues today to be the face of the practice! In her free time, she and her husband are enjoy going to the lake and spending time with their two daughters and grandson.
Chuck attended Veterinary Technician training while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He joined MAH in June 1979, during its first year of operation. Chuck has a wife, two children,a German Shepard and a Shih Tzu. During the fall you can catch him watching football.
Dr. Robert Hal Kennon, DVM
Dr. Kennon attended Louisiana State University and graduated from Mississipi State University College of Veterinarian Medicine in 1985. He has worked at MAH for over 21 years. Kennon is married and has five children and five grandchildren. He has four dogs and enjoys working with animals, spending time outdoors, and watching LSU football games!
Dr. Walter Anderson McPhail, Jr., DVM
Dr. McPhail grew up on a farm in Abbeville, South Carolina. McPhail did his undergraduate work at Clemson University and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1968 with his doctorate. He opened McPhail Animal Hospital (MAH) in 1978. McPhail lives in Mauldin with his beautiful wife. He has served as the President of the South Carolina Veterinary Association. McPhail has won South Carolina Veterinarian of the Year twice as well as numerous awards for his work with trees. He has three dogs, four cats, ten birds, two turtles, and one beta fish. In his spare time, he enjoys working with loblolly pines, gardening, attending Clemson football games, and catching up with his two wonderful daughters.
